This will be my twenty-eighth year of teaching here in Arizona. I taught for fifteen years in the Glendale Elementary School District where I taught special education, 5th grade, 6th grade and a 4th grade gifted cluster. This will be my thirteenth year working as a special education teacher in the Deer Valley district. I received a dual major in Special and Elementary Education from NAU before pursuing my Master’s Degree in Elementary Ed. My goal is to provide an engaging educational environment where students feel safe and learn to advocate for themselves as lifelong learners.
I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I have three daughters. Claudia is my oldest and lives in Durham, NC. My middle daughter, Indigo, is the social media manager for the city of Santa Monica and lives in downtown Los Angeles. My youngest, Gwyneth, is currently pursuing a pharmacy science degree at the University of Arizona in Tucson. My wife is the new principal at Sierra Verde in DVUSD.
My family enjoys camping, traveling, and music. We spend a lot of time with our animals; our dogs, Quincy and Max and our four cats, Dash, Sofi, Xena and Minerva. We also presently have three chickens, two ducks, two desert tortoises and our snake Henry who lives here at Highland Lakes.
