Mr. Benjamin Nelson
Hello! My name is Benjamin Nelson and I specialize in making the world a better place. I believe everyone has the capacity and ability to change the world for the better, so every day I try to inspire those around me with my passion for betterment, positivity and general enthusiasm for life. Oh yes, I also teach 7th Grade Science here at Highland Lakes!
I was born and raised in Phoenix and truly love it here, even when it's a hundred and forty-seven degrees outside. I graduated from NAU in 2005 and feel pretty lucky that I can stand on neutral ground during the heated ASU vs. U of A rivalry that tends to take place around here ;-) My beautiful wife, Angela, and I have two fantastic children. We have an eighteen-year-old boy named Hagen that makes us laugh every day and an 11-year-old girl named Hannah that melts hearts with her big blue eyes and infectious smile. I also have to give a shout-out to my mom. She is one of the kindest, most compassionate people you'll ever meet and inspires me to be a better person every day.
I love soccer a lot. I follow a number of leagues and tournaments and play on a coed team myself. I also have a borderline unhealthy obsession with soccer jerseys. Aside from soccer, I enjoy basketball, watching movies and spending time with my family. I think the most important thing though that you should know about me is that I tend to be nauseatingly positive. The only time I will focus on the negative aspect of a situation is when I'm trying to find a way of changing it into a positive.
