Spanish

Elementary Spanish

Teach K-6 as an Enrichment program for Renaissance students. 

Kinder, first grade and second grade meet twice a week for 30 minutes. 

Third to sixth grade students meet twice a week for 45 minutes. 

The curriculum:

  • Sonrisas Level 1 is designed for Kinder and 1st grades
  • Sonrisas Level 2 is designed for 2nd and 3rd grades. 
  • Sonrisas Level 3 is designed for 4th to 6th grades.

Middle School Spanish

This course of study is designed for students to earn high school credit and prepare them for further World Language education. 

  • Spanish 1-2 is the first year of study.  Students meet every day for one period. Currently Spanish 1-2 is an introductory course with a 4.0 GPA designation. 
  • Spanish 3-4 is the second year of study, furthering a student’s knowledge of the language and culture.  Students meet every day for one period. Currently Spanish 3-4 is an honors course with a 5.0 GPA designation. 

The district curriculum uses the series Qué Chévere by EMC Publishing.
