CLASSROOM INTERRUPTIONS DELIVERIES AND MESSAGES

In an effort to increase academic time and decrease classroom interruptions, we have changed our procedure for classroom deliveries and giving student messages. This change will go into effect on November 13th.  If your student forgot their homework, book, back pack, lunch, an article of clothing, water bottle, sports equipment, permission slip, band instrument, class room treat, etc., please email their teacher and let them know you are bringing that article to the front office. In the subject line of that email, please include the word “Delivery”.
At the end of each class hour, teachers will check their email. If an email includes the word “Delivery” the teacher will read that email and deliver messages to the students before the end of the hour. If the student has something to pick up in the front office, they may do so between classes.
Teachers' email addresses can be found on our school‟s web-site at Highlandlakes.dvusd.org. You may also sign onto power schools and click on the teacher's name and it will go right to their email. If you have a middle school student, power schools will tell you where your student is, depending on the class period/time of day.

We feel class instructional time is very important and can be greatly increased without interruptions. We hope this new system will maximize your student‟s academic time.
Thank you.
